Stewart started his banking career in the United Kingdom,
and after a period with Samuel Montagu he moved to the United Arab
Emirates where he worked for a total of ten years. With National Bank
of Abu Dhabi he was responsible for IT and operations for both the
United Arab Emirates and overseas network.
Stewart then moved into consulting and spent a number of years
in the Middle East, United Kingdom and latterly in Eastern Europe
where he was managing partner for Deloitte & Touche IT and Banking
Practice based in Warsaw. He undertook many projects at both strategic
and tactical levels including restructuring, privatizations, mergers,

managed the formation of two significant joint ventures in India
and Poland, and built an independent Europe, Middle East and African
team.
Stewart has since worked on a number of assignments with other
equity funds, one of which, Charlemagne Capital invested in Eastern
Europe banks. As Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer
of Hebros Bank Bulgaria, Stewart refocused the business and directed
the whole change management, process and IT program, resulting in
the successful sale of the bank to Bank Austria Creditanstaldt.

off shoring and marketing plans within financial services. In addition
he has managed the development of an Islamic banking proposition
to launch a retail/consumer bank in Europe aimed at the small and
